NVIDIA opens independent investigation after reports of foreign intelligence effort
November 8, 2026. NVIDIA’s board said it is opening an independent investigation following reports that founder and CEO Jensen Huang was the target of a foreign intelligence effort. A committee of independent directors, assisted by outside independent counsel, will oversee the review.
The board said it has no reason to believe national security or NVIDIA secrets were compromised. It said Huang supports the review and has committed to cooperate. The company did not announce findings.
Why it matters
NVIDIA is a major supplier of chips for artificial intelligence. An independent review can assess security and governance risks, but its launch does not establish that a leak occurred.
Rockstar Briefing editorial analysis
Investors and customers should watch the review’s scope and any findings the board can disclose. The confirmed fact is the inquiry itself; the reports that prompted it and any eventual conclusions require separate assessment.
