ADNOC, OpenAI and G42 agree to apply AI across energy operations

November 2, 2026. ADNOC, OpenAI and G42, through its subsidiary Inception42, signed an agreement to bring advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to the Emirati energy company’s operations, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said.

According to the announcement, the initiative will use OpenAI GPT models with inference infrastructure located in the United Arab Emirates and aims to connect operational, commercial and investment decisions. The stated benefits are objectives of the agreement.

Why it matters

The deal shows how AI providers are bringing their tools into complex industrial operations, where safety, local infrastructure and data quality influence adoption.

Rockstar Briefing analysis

The agreement broadens the commercial reach of AI models in energy. Results will depend on integration with existing systems, human oversight and measured improvements; the announcement alone does not establish savings or higher production.
